Fluffy Puppy Grooming has been Pasadena's neighborhood dog spa since 2017 — nine years on the same stretch of Colorado Boulevard that hosts the Rose Parade every January. If you're a Pasadena dog owner, you've probably driven past our front door a hundred times.
Pasadena was founded by Indiana settlers in 1874 and incorporated in 1886 — earlier than most of its neighbors. The Tournament of Roses Parade has rolled down Colorado Boulevard every New Year's Day since 1890, and the Rose Bowl Stadium has anchored the Arroyo Seco since 1922. Today the city is home to Caltech, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the Norton Simon Museum, the Pasadena Playhouse, and the Gamble House — the 1908 Craftsman masterpiece by Greene & Greene. Population about 138,000, with one of the highest concentrations of historic homes in California.
Pasadena's dog culture revolves around the Arroyo Seco watershed, Memorial Park, and Brookside Park at the foot of the Rose Bowl. Bungalow Heaven Craftsman owners walk small mixed-breeds; Hastings Ranch families have golden retrievers; South Lake Avenue young professionals have Goldendoodles and rescue mutts. Pasadena Humane Society — right down Raymond Avenue from us — is one of the most respected animal shelters in California, and an outsized share of our regulars are Pasadena Humane adoptees.
