Monrovia is the town between Arcadia and Duarte, which now means a Fluffy Puppy spa on either side. Pasadena is the shorter drive. Glendora is there when the east side of town is easier.
Monrovia incorporated in 1887 and named itself for William N. Monroe, the railroad builder who laid out the town. It still uses the old nickname, Gem City of the Foothills. Myrtle Avenue is Old Town — the depot, the library, and a walkable main street that never fully gave way to the 210. About 38,000 people live here, with canyon streets climbing north toward the mountains and Mayflower just to the south.
Old Town Myrtle is a leash town: patios, the library park, and a Saturday crowd. The real dirt is above Hillcrest and at Canyon Park, where the trails start. Monrovia dogs look a lot like Arcadia and Pasadena dogs — doodles, companions, and hiking coats — because it is the same foothill street grid, one town east.
Book Pasadena unless Glendora is genuinely closer to your part of town. A Full Groom is the usual Myrtle Avenue request. Canyon dogs can add de-shedding. Tell us which spa when you schedule so the confirmation names the right door.

Pasadena is closer for most of Monrovia — about twelve to fifteen minutes west to 2385 E Colorado Blvd. Glendora is the other door, farther east, if you live on the Duarte side or you are already headed that way.
