Dog Grooming in La Verne
Old Town, the university, and Marshall Canyon.
La Verne is the east end of an easy drive from our Glendora spa — through San Dimas on Bonita Avenue, about fifteen minutes. Old Town and Marshall Canyon are the two reasons those dogs look the way they do.
The town was Lordsburg first, incorporated in 1906 and renamed La Verne in 1917. Lordsburg College, opened in 1891, is now the University of La Verne, and the campus still anchors the south side of Old Town. Citrus packing built the city; the groves are mostly houses now, but the packing-house scale of D Street is still there. About 31,000 people live between San Dimas, Claremont, and Pomona, under Marshall Canyon.
University sidewalks on weekdays, Marshall Canyon on weekends. Old Town La Verne — D Street and the streets around it — is a stroller-and-leash walk. The canyon parks put foxtails and dust into the same coats. It is a smaller town than Covina or Pomona, and the dogs tend to be regulars rather than one-time visitors.
Book the Glendora spa and ask for a Full Groom. Canyon coats that also need undercoat work can add de-shedding. Claremont and north Pomona are welcome at the same door if the drive is reasonable — say so when you book.
