Dog Grooming in Eagle Rock

Eagle Rock takes its name from a 150-foot sandstone rock formation visible from the Ventura Freeway whose natural shadow creates the silhouette of an eagle in flight (most clearly in early afternoon). The neighborhood was a separate city until it was annexed by Los Angeles in 1923. Occidental College, founded in 1887 and one of the oldest liberal arts colleges in the West, anchors the eastern end of York Boulevard — which over the past decade has become one of NELA's busiest restaurant and bar strips. Pasadena Humane Society sits on the Pasadena-Eagle Rock border, on the corner of Avenue 56 and Marmion Way.

Eagle Rock has more mixed-breed rescues per capita than almost any LA neighborhood, partly because of the proximity to Pasadena Humane. Many of our Eagle Rock clients are rescued seniors who needed a patient first groom and then never went anywhere else. York Boulevard is dog-friendly to a fault — patio dogs at every restaurant, water bowls at every shop.

Our Senior & Special Care service is well-loved in Eagle Rock — slower pace, breaks, orthopedic mats, patience with anxious rescues. We don't shave-down anyone who doesn't need it, and we don't charge extra for the slow pace. Most of our long-term Eagle Rock regulars came in as nervous adoptees and stayed for life.
